IPad Pro Demonstration + a Giveaway!

The main reason I decided to get an IPad Pro was for lettering and I am so happy I got it! I'm going to show you how easy it is to import vector lettering into illustrator. The video below will go through the process. A couple things to note; I'm using Adobe draw in this and Illustrator CC. Mixing Pearl Ex Pigments into Ink

Lets talk pearl ex pigments! I love using them to make ink for calligraphy. I made a video below going through the whole process but here is the basic breakdown:   4 Parts Pearl Ex 1 Part Gum Arabic (powder) 4 parts water   One thing I did forget to mention in the video is after mixing the ink always test it on the paper stock you will be using, let it dry, and make sure it doesn't smear. If it does try adding some more gum arabic. I do this with all my inks, in my opinion it's worth the extra time. It's terrible when 35 envelopes in you realize the ink / paper stock are not interacting well...

Wishing you a Happy New Year and exciting things happening in 2017

  Looking back at 2016 it was quite a year for me personally and for my business. For those of you that don't know me personally my husband and I moved from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Saratoga Springs, New York. My husband took an amazing job and I got to head back to New York to be closer to my family.   That may sound like big changes and don't get me wrong it was but the biggest changes were in my career. Make sure your invitations arrive at their destination.

You received your Invitations and you are ready to send them to all your guests! Make sure you take these few steps before you do to ensure they arrive at their destination. Make sure you look through your entire invitation suite within 48 hours upon receipt of your order.  Although calligraphy is double checked before shipping to you it is made by hand so errors can occur. Finish assembling your invitations. Stamp your RSVP envelopes, stack the RSVP envelope, and RSVP on top of invitation. Seal envelopes. Take a fully assembled invitation suite to the post office and have it weighed so you know exactly how much postage to put on your invitation.  Remember odd sized invitations like square invitations...
